Wax Melt care guide
-
Position your electric or tealight wax warmer on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, vents, and flammable items.
-
Keep the warmer and melting wax completely out of reach of children and pets.
-
Place 1–2 pieces of wax (typically 0.5 to 1 oz) depending on the dish capacity of your warmer.
-
Do not overload the dish; melted wax expands slightly and can easily spill over the sides if overfilled.
-
Electric Warmers: Turn on the device and allow the wax to melt fully to release the hot throw.
-
Tealight Warmers: Use only unscented, 4-hour tealight candles. Avoid using 8-hour tealights, as prolonged extreme heat can overheat the warmer dish.
-
Do not burn or heat your warmer for more than 4 hours at a time.
-
Cotton Ball Method (Liquid Wax): While the wax is still liquid and the warmer is turned off, place 2–3 cotton balls into the dish to absorb the melted wax, then wipe clean with a paper towel.
-
Pop-Out Method (Solid Wax): Turn on the warmer for 1–2 minutes just until the bottom edge of the wax loosens. Gently push the wax block out with your thumb—it will slide right out cleanly.
-
Never use metal utensils, knives, or sharp objects to scrape cold wax out of a ceramic dish, as this can crack or chip the glaze.
Pro-Tips for Maximum Performance
-
Storage: Store unused wax melts in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources to preserve color, fragrance oils, and structural integrity.
-
Wax Re-use: Wax does not evaporate like candle wax. Once you no longer smell the fragrance after repeated uses, discard the spent wax and load fresh cubes.
-
Safety First: Never add water or liquid fragrance oils directly to a melting dish containing wax.
